We are looking forward to another great year at Breitman Hebrew School and we are so grateful we can once again offer in-person lessons. The safety of our students, their families and our Hebrew School staff, is of our highest priority. Please see below the precautions that we will be taking. We will be constantly reassessing the COVID-19 situation and if necessary, will make changes by next session (beginning November 15).

Screening & Entrance Protocols

o    Prior to sending your child each week, we will ask you to fill out an online form that your child is fever-free and has not been in contact with anyone with COVID19. If your child has symptoms or has been exposed, we ask that you wait until your child is tested or the symptoms resolve.

o    DROP-OFF: All students will be met at their car by a staff member and will have their temperature taken, before entry. If checked with an elevated fever of 100.4, we ask that you join the virtual classes that week and stay home.

o    Parents and other visitors may not enter the building, if you would like to reach us during school hours, please text Chaya at 908-448-3226.

o    Upon entry, all hands must be sanitized.

o    PICK-UP: Students will wait in their classrooms for dismissal and we will bring each child to their car one at a time.

Social Distancing

o    All students will remain with their class and there will be no mixing between classes.

o    We will be seating our students 6 feet apart from one another, (2 per 6’ table)

o    Children will have individual boxes of basic supplies, and each week the students will be provided with a prepackaged pack of materials necessary for each lesson, including individually packaged snacks.

PPE

o    While indoors all staff and students must wear masks

o    We are grateful for our outdoor spaces and will be using it as frequently as we can. During our time outdoors, masks will not be required while maintaining social distancing.

Cleaning & Sanitizing

o    We will be frequently cleaning and disinfecting all areas

o    Hand sanitizer and soap will be available in every classroom.

o    Students will wash hands upon entry, before and after snack and outdoor time and use hand sanitizer when necessary.

o    Disinfectant wipes and spray will be with each teacher to wipe down all handles and bars between uses and for all surfaces used.

Containment Plan

o    In the case of exposure, all sick children and staff will be isolated immediately and will not return to school without testing and medical guidance.

o    We will coordinate with health officials for possible classroom or school closure

o    Parents will be notified immediately of potential exposure

Sick Policy:

o    If your child has a fever or is ill, please keep them home until they are showing no signs or symptoms.

o    Children must be symptom free (without the aid of a fever reducing medication) for 24 hours.

o    If your child develops an excessive and unusual runny nose, cough or sneeze, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, loss of taste or smell, or any other symptoms typical of COVID-19, the student will be immediately separated from the group until they can be picked up by a parent or guardian.

o    If you, your spouse or other members of your family have a temperature or are sick, we request that you keep your child/ren home.

The success of in person Hebrew School depends upon all families openly and honestly communicating whether anyone in their home has tested positive or even has any related symptoms.

With everyone following all the necessary proactive precautions, we are confident that your child(ren) can be provided with an amazing, educational and exciting year at Breitman Hebrew School!
