The Torah provides guidance in LIFE, helping us to connect with the transcendant (G-d) and to live meaningful day-to-day lives.
Each HOLIDAY provides its own exercise for HUMAN growth and DEVELOPMENT; lessons which should far outlive the hours/days of the Holiday itself.
Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur direct us to focus on the STRENGTH OF OUR RELATIONSHIPS. When we have a valued relationship, it often moves out of our 'front-and-center' consciousness due to the busy-ness of life.
But we need to periodically regain that focus. We need to find palpable gratitude for a special relationship, and to assess our own behavior toward that significant connection: Do we honor it as we should? Are we working to strengthen it? How can we integrate more into our consciousness in the future?
This exercise should apply to all relationships.
On Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur we specifically examine our relationship with G-d in this light. We evaluate it, strengthen it - and we celebrate it!

With best wishes for a wonderful new year,

The Chabad Team
